Unfortunately firmware update only seems to be from a Windows utility, which is a bit of a pain for Mac users. The latest firmware version for the card is V10, but even this will only support OS X 10.6.8 on 16/16 and not on 32/32, so might be worth swapping it down to 16/16 without updating and seeing if that works. There are firmware updates for the USB card available off the Behringer website, which are updated via a USB cable between laptop and USB card, separate from the console firmware updates. Oh well.I don't think the X32 is Dante via the USB card though, it's a USB interface? As for the Mute function, it works the way my head works, and I find it odd (like when I work on a Soundcraft Si Expression 2) to have to turn 'on' a channel.

The fluid nature of acquisitions and consolidations can change the 'home base' of things in the blink of an eye.īack to I agree the phone holder was not a forward-thinking attribute. For example, Allen & Heath does some of its manufacturing in China. While I'm here, to be aware that Audiotonix that owns Digico, Allen & Heath, SSL, Digigrid and Calrec, has operations in many places. I'm not sure what he's dealing with in his situation, but the Home>Config>Source list allows you have (for example) In05 and In06 which normally go to chan-5/chan-6 also go to chan-7/chan-8 or anywhere else you'd like. ON button (I just want consistency between the boards I use.)The source of the quote is missing in the comment about assigning a physical input to additional/different channels. The fixed configuration of 16 input faders and 8 output faders (although if you apply a DCA to a single input, you can "expand" the list of visible inputs by 8). The phone holder is kinda pointless in todays "large-factor phone" environment. I'm curious, are you splitting the signal at venues to work on this board, or are you bringing your own mains, mics etc? If someone told me to unplug my entire board and use the traveling engineers, we'd have a very serious talk about how the doors over there. And for the price it's a welcome board in any medium sized venue. I love the visualized EQ bands, good metering and functionality of compressors and gates, and once you're set up it's a pretty intuitive layout. The routing is not nearly as intuitive and flexible as the qu32 and Si Ex, and the interface is desperately lacking a touch screen or good knobs, and navigating the setup of the console is tedious and clunky.īut! Is it totally usable and perfectly fine for this or most standard live music needs? Absolutely. Other things I dislike about the x32 have been mentioned no multitrack out, not enough GEQ to run FOH+monitor mixes, a limited pallet of functional FXs, and a basically useless headphone amp. That will effect the monitor mix as well. A tip I picked up is to run the master bus at around -5, so that the pres work a little harder and juice the signal. I find myself removing a lot of high end information on the x32 to compensate for it's clicky pres.Ī common solution to this is to drive them a little harder. The qu32 and Si expression both have transparent, clean and punchy channels. I feel like the pres have a very behringer character of being very 'clicky' and silibence heavy. I work on an Allan and Heath qu32, sound craft si expression, analog boards and an x32. THE PRES! Or more specifically, the A/D conversion I'm surprised no ones really mentioned my personal least favorite thing about the x32 Thoughts ? (i can be reached directly at )

I bought and installed a second (new) X32 USB card and got the exact same sequence of behavior (perfection, degradation each time I turned the mixer off and back on, full failure) eventually concluding in full failure of my PC to recognize the X32 USB card at all.

finally, after multiple reboots and re-installations of both the 4.11 and 4.38 driver sets, it all stopped working and my PC stopped seeing the X32 USB alltogether. then the PC wouldn't route to any AUX at all. each subsequent time I turned the Mixer off and on, the functionality changed/degraded (DAW and MP3 Players on my PC originally routed successfully to two different AUX pairs but then, after a shut down and reboot, showed up on the same Aux pair.

I bought the mixer used and the first time I hooked it up to my PC (i5, 16 GB, Win7, Samplitude DAW, USB 2.0) the X32 USB drivers installed and worked perfectly. My X32 Producer appears to have "eaten" (destroyed) (2) X32 USB cards.
